We are looking for an Accountant who will take on the responsibility for processing sales orders, compiling data used in metrics reporting and general accounting duties including full-cycle accounts payable.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the sales order processing, including but not limited to entering new contracts and contract renewals in NetSuite, updating contract records, completing the sales summary and creating jobs.
  • Process cancellation/non-renewal/downsell requests entered by Account Managers in NetSuite.
  • Prepare month-end files to support forecast reporting, as assigned.
  • Manage the accounts payable process ensuring compliance with approval policies, accuracy in account and department charge allocation.
  • Assess the accuracy of GST, HST and PST on invoices and self-assess taxes where necessary.
  • Prepare, file and remit monthly GST/HST and PST reports.
  • Update and maintain vendor records in NetSuite.
  • Process charges made to the corporate credit card.
  • Ensure timely payment of accounts payable through bi-monthly cheque processing.
  • Post vendor payments made through EFT and/or wire payments.
  • Record pre-authorized debits made against the bank accounts.
  • Assist in checking and processing expense reports submitted by employees.
  • Maintain, update and reconcile subsidiary ledgers of assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • File and maintain all accounting documents and records.
  • Serve as back-up in the absence of the Accountant.
  • Assist in other areas or projects as may be required.

 

Qualification/Education/Experience:

 

  • Education: Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or related field.
  • Enrollment in the CPA program, or equivalent related experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a computerized accounting environment (AP and GL)
  • Experience in sales orders processing an asset
  • NetSuite experience is an asset
  • Strong Excel skills, MS Word
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with various office procedures.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be fluent in English and have good communication skills.
