We are looking to add an Intermediate Accountant to our team. In this role you will be responsible for the accounts payable, expense reports, balance sheet reconciliations of assigned accounts for the US parent and domestic/ international subsidiaries and other general accounting duties.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the accounts payable transactions of all companies ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Accurately process vendor invoices including matching to correct purchase orders in a business spend management platform which integrates with ERP
  • Verifying the imported invoices and reviewing auto-populated details in the ERP system for accuracy
  • Daily monitoring of the accounts payable inbox to ensure the ERP invoice import is completed successfully, following up on any issues for resolution
  • Analyze Aged AP report and open PO listing to facilitate weekly review of outstanding balances
  • Assess the accuracy of taxes on vendor invoices and perform self-assessment of taxes whenever necessary
  • Review and process all employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Reconcile, code, and manage all corporate credit card expenses
  • Support month-end activities including monitoring the incoming invoices for accruals, account reconciliations, posting of journal entries and other related tasks
  • Maintain, update and reconcile subsidiary ledgers of assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare, file and remit taxes related to purchases
  • Update and maintain vendor records in the ERP system, including contracts and W9
  • Implement, document and maintain effective workflows to improve the close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • File and maintain all accounting documents and records
  • Serve as back-up for other accounting functions as may be assigned
  • Assist in other areas or projects as may be required


Qualifications/Education/Experience:

 

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting
  • 5+ years of full cycle accounts payable experience and GL reconciliations
  • Enrollment in an accounting designation program is an asset
  • Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and internal controls
  • Prior experience with a SaaS company and start-up experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of any ERP system required
  • Intacct experience is an asset
  • Coupa experience is an asset
  • Payroll management a plus
  • Intermediate Excel skills (V-lookup, pivot tables)
  • Must be fluent in English and have good written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and be willing to assist other team members when necessary
  • Organized, detailed-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Works well under pressure and managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
